Lost in the Backyard
Where imagination refuses to stay make-believe.
📺The Story of Two Brothers Who Accidentally Rewrote Reality
There was nothing particularly magical about the backyard.
Just a patch of grass, a few scraggly trees, and the kind of uneven fence that leaned like it had secrets to tell but never got around to it.
Still—Zak and Adrian loved it. It was theirs. Their kingdom. Their training ground. Their everything.
Every afternoon, once homework was half-done (or convincingly pretended to be), they’d race outside with whatever they could find—sticks, old cardboard shields, a bucket that once held baseballs but now held treasure. Their imaginations filled in the rest: dragons swooping low over the sandbox, pirates lurking by the lilac bushes, ancient tombs buried under the hydrangeas.
To anyone else, it was a yard.
To them—it was a universe.
And every universe needs heroes. ⚔️
✨ The Art of Turning Ordinary into Epic
Zak, the older one, was the “planner.” He had a way of squinting into the distance, mapping out imaginary kingdoms like he was seeing something no one else could. Adrian—messier, louder, all heart—was his chaos engine. Together, they were unstoppable.
One day, armed with a splintered wooden sword and a faded library book about myths, they declared war on boredom itself. The kind of day where the air smelled like sun-warmed grass and adventure, and even the birds sounded like they were cheering them on.
But the best stories, as every adventurer learns, have a way of slipping out of your control.
🌿 The Woods Behind the Fence
It started with a sound—barely there. A hum, low and shivery, coming from the trees that bordered the yard. The woods had always been there, sure, but they’d never really noticed them. Not like that.
Adrian said it was the wind. Zak said it was something else. Something older.
And then, like kids do when they’re too brave for their own good, they went to find out.
The air thickened the deeper they went. The ground felt soft, like walking on breath. And every few steps, they’d hear it again—that faint hum, rising and falling like the woods themselves were alive.
When the last sliver of sunlight vanished behind the trees, Zak turned to go back. But the path had changed.
The backyard was gone.
So were the fences.
So was everything they knew.
💫 Where Imagination Becomes Something Else
At first, they laughed. Because of course it was still a game. It had to be. That’s what they told themselves, anyway, as fireflies blinked in strange patterns that almost looked like words.
But when Adrian’s “wooden sword” started glowing faintly blue, even Zak couldn’t keep pretending.
Something—someone—had answered their game.
What had started as a backyard adventure had rewritten itself into something vast and ancient. The creatures they’d dreamed up were here now: sprites with wicked grins, trolls with moss in their beards, and shadows that whispered things you didn’t want to understand.
It was like stepping into the pages of the myths they used to read before bed… only the monsters weren’t paper anymore.
And the rules had changed.
🧩 The Glitch in the World
They started calling it the Glitch.
Not because they really knew what it was—but because things didn’t behave right anymore. Time skipped. Rocks shimmered. Words rearranged themselves when you looked away.
Reality, it seemed, had… hiccupped.
Maybe it was a portal. Maybe a test. Maybe just imagination gone rogue. Whatever it was, the brothers were in it together, and that was the only thing that made sense anymore.
Their bond—stubborn, loyal, sometimes loud—became their anchor.
When Adrian fell into a pit that turned out to be a puzzle, Zak’s quick thinking saved him. When Zak nearly gave up, convinced they’d never find home again, Adrian cracked a joke that made him snort mid-tears.
That’s how they fought it—not just with bravery, but with love. The quiet, ordinary kind that keeps you alive when everything else feels impossible.
🕯️ The Heart of the Story
At its core, Glitch Busters: The Brothers Who Saved a World isn’t just about magic or monsters or glowing swords.
It’s about that razor-thin line between pretend and reality—how easily we lose it, how fiercely kids refuse to.
It’s about how imagination can build worlds… and sometimes, maybe, rebuild us too.
And it’s about brotherhood—the way one look can mean don’t you dare give up now, even when both of you are scared out of your minds.
Because the truth is, every kid with a stick has wielded Excalibur. Every patch of woods has hidden a secret portal. Every sibling duo has, at some point, believed they could save the world together.
And maybe—just maybe—they weren’t wrong. 🌌
🌠 Why Readers Love It
A world born from imagination. You’ll feel the air shift as make-believe turns real—and remember how it felt to believe anything was possible.
Heart and humor in equal measure. It’s not just fantasy—it’s family. Full of the messy, beautiful chaos of brotherhood.
A story that lingers. It starts in a backyard but ends somewhere far deeper—where bravery and belief collide.

🪞 Author’s Note
When I first started writing Glitch Busters, I wasn’t really setting out to build another world—I was trying to capture the one that lives inside every child’s imagination before the world convinces them to put it away.
I wrote it for my two young boys, who can turn a stick into a sword and a pile of dirt into destiny. For their laughter, their bravery, their endless capacity to see magic where adults only see chores.
This story is my love letter to that kind of wonder—to the worlds we build to survive childhood, to the power of pretending, and to the quiet, unbreakable magic of brotherhood.
Because if there’s one truth I’ve learned watching them grow, it’s this:
sometimes the most extraordinary adventures begin just beyond the backyard fence. 🌳
